While working as an in-house industrial designer at Tsann Kuen Magic Lab, an ODM manufacturer for home appliance brands, I noticed that the thermo-power probe on our client's products was an easy detail to overlook — a small component that most people, including our own team, tended to treat as an afterthought.

I took the initiative to investigate : researching how the probe was used in practice, identifying where it fell short, and proposing a redesign that added clearer heating-status indication through color. I worked directly with our engineering department to validate that the redesign was feasible within our existing manufacturing process, without adding cost or complexity for the client.

As an ODM, this kind of improvement doesn't change our own brand — but for the home appliance brands we manufacture for, it gave them a low-cost way to differentiate a product and justify a move into the higher-end market.
